Click Here To Watch Serenity (2005)

In the future a spaceship called Serenity is harboring a passenger with a deadly secret. Six rebels on the run. An assassin in pursuit. When the renegade crew of Serenity agrees to hide a fugitive on their ship they find themselves in an awesome action-packed battle between the relentless military might of a totalitarian regime who will destroy anything - or anyone - to get the girl back and the bloodthirsty creatures who roam the uncharted areas of space. But the greatest danger of all may be on their ship.

Review

Instead of going into a long drawn out review let me sum up "Serenity" by saying that 1) no fans of "Firefly" will be disappointed and 2) Whedon does a good enough job laying out the backstory that newbies to the Firefly universe will have no trouble figuring things out and enjoying the heck out of the movie.

The film is split more into halves than the standard three acts which works just fine in this instance. The plot may be confusing at first but when the second half of the film starts there are no lingering questions and a pantload of great action bits and oneliners. Frankly the last 45 minutes are absolutely outstanding. The first half takes a bit to really pick up but its the second half of the movie that will leave old fans and new yearning for a sequel.

There are some sad moments some gut busting lines and some rousing actions sequences that make "Serenity" a wonderful film that really really deserves a sequel and perhaps if were lucky a second chance on SciFi.
