After eliminating General Zod & the other Kryptonian arch-villains Ursa & Non Superman leaves Earth to try to find his former home world of Krypton after astronomers have supposedly found it. When he finds nothing but remnants he returns home to Earth - to find out that Lois Lane is engaged to a relative of his boss and that Lex Luthor is at it again - after swindling an elderly terminally ill woman. The psychopathic Luthor whose plans to destroy California failed because of Supermans heroics vows vengeance against the Man of Steel and contrives a new sinister plot - using the crystals of Krypton to build a continent that will wipe out most of North America! Embedded in the continents structure is Kryptonite - the lethal substance that is Supermans only weakness. Upon learning of Luthors sinister scheme Superman must again race against time to stop the psychopathic Luthor before millions - possibly billions - are killed.

considering the hype for this moviei thought it would be better than it was.it wasn't a horrible moviebut i don't think it lived up to the Superman name.Brandon Routh as Supermanlooked a lot like Christopher Reevemaybe a bit too much.his mannerisms were also too much like Reeveas if he were trying to emulate himwhen instead he should have been trying to put his own stamp on the character.Kate Bosworth was okay as Loise lanebut Kevin Spacey was an inspired choice as Lex Luthor.i also liked Frank Langella as Perry White.howeveri could have done without James Marsden as Richard Whiteespecially since his role was so small it was pointless.the other problem i had with the movie is that it tended to lag at timescausing my attention to wander.this movie just didn't have the impact of a movie like spider man or even any of the xmen films.it just didn't have as much substance as it could have.if you've yet to see this moviekeep your expectations low and maybe you won't be overly disappointed. 610
